1. Building the Competencies of Tarnów’s Residents

Modern vocational education requires appropriate infrastructure and teaching tools tailored to the current needs of the labor market. In Tarnów, many school labs are outdated, making it difficult for students to acquire practical skills. The rapid development of technology and the growing demands of employers make modernization of equipment essential. The project involves comprehensively equipping vocational labs with modern equipment that will enable students to acquire qualifications that meet the real expectations of employers.

Support will be provided to, among others Economic and Gastronomic School Complex in Tarnów, where future economic technicians, salespeople, and students of catering and consumer services are trained. The Center for Vocational and Continuing Education in Tarnów will modernize its welding lab and non-destructive weld testing laboratory. For years, Tarnów has been educating specialists in highly sought-after professions, such as catering, trade, and welding. Welding is a profession in short supply, and the local labor market constantly reports a demand for qualified professionals.

The newly equipped workshops will serve not only young people but also adults seeking to improve their skills or retrain. Vocational qualification courses in accounting, HR and payroll management, catering and food service management, as well as MAG and TIG welding courses are planned. The investment is consistent with the long-term strategy for the development of vocational education and regional educational programs such as “Zawodowa Małopolska” (Vocational Małopolska). he modernization of infrastructure will improve the quality of education, strengthen cooperation between schools and local businesses, and increase the competitiveness of Tarnów’s educational institutions, while providing students with learning conditions similar to those in a real-world work environment. The project’s value is PLN 2,370,640.50, of which PLN 1,927,350.00 is subsidy.
