Parada Maszkaronów w sobotę!
Grab your smartphone for some cool photos and come join the Masquerade Parade! This coming Saturday, June 13, a colorful procession of masks—created by talented, creative children and local entrepreneurs—will march through the streets of Tarnów’s Old Town. The event is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 PM. 18.
But before the parade sets off, the jury will view the contest entries in the Market Square at 5:00 PM. The masks will be judged on their presentation, resemblance to the actual sculptures, and craftsmanship. In the meantime, the crowd will be entertained by performances from Teddy’s Army.
Following the jury’s deliberations, at around 6:00 PM, the participants will set off from the Town Hall. The route will lead through Plac Rybny and Wałowa Street to the intersection with Krakowska Street. The parade will then pass through Plac Kazimierza and head back to the Town Square.
“Everyone is welcome to join—you can just show up and march with us. We’ll also have masks from the previous edition for anyone who’d like to carry them. You can also bring your own, for example from the winter masquerade,” encourages Maria Zawada-Bilik, Director of the Culture, Promotion, and Tourism Department.
The parade will culminate in the announcement of the contest results.
