Summer in Tarnow
Summer in Tarnów is a wonderful opportunity to look at the city from a slightly different perspective. Starting this Saturday, June 27, both residents and tourists will have the chance to visit the Cathedral Basilica free of charge and take part in historical guided walks, which will reveal lesser-known stories and places tied to the history of Tarnów. Admission is completely free, with no prior registration required.
Cathedral sightseeing will be available from June 27 to August 31. From Monday to Friday, the temple will be open to visitors from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. On Saturdays, opening hours are 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, and on Sundays as well as August 15 (the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary), it will be open from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
A day after the launch, on June 28, a series of free historical guided walks will kick off. The meetings will take place on selected Sundays at 4:00 PM and will last about two hours. Each walk will be dedicated to a different chapter of the city’s history and the prominent figures who left their mark on it.

Most of the walks will start in front of the Tarnów Information Center at Rynek 7. The only exception is the walk scheduled for August 23 – participants will meet in front of the Gal Hotel at plac Dworcowy.
Participation in all events is completely free of charge. It is a perfect opportunity both for first-time visitors to Tarnów and for residents who want to dive deeper into the history of their hometown.
